The Spirocomp Command
Window displays important information about the database,
notes or comments for the current record, and allows quick
access to software features.

This analysis view
clearly depicts the relationship between each of the
measured and computed lung volumes. The vital capacity bar
can be toggled to display a stack of its component volumes
or the fraction of air expelled within the first second
(FEV1).
|
|
|
When acquiring data, a
volume gauge appears on the left, and the subject is
prompted as to how to proceed. A text prompt appears on the
status line at the bottom of the window, and audio prompts
can be heard (if enabled in preferences).

|
Volume is graphed
against time during the measurement of vital capacity.
Afterwards, a data marker can be positioned anywhere along
the curve to determine the volume of air expelled at any
time during the forced expiratory effort. This makes it
possible to quantify such parameters as FEV and mid
expiratory flow. In addition, the shape of the curve itself
can be compared between various subjects and its
physiological significance explored.

the entire group are displayed at the click of a

The Summary Table
displays all the data from the database in spreadsheet
format. This same data can also be dumped (exported) to a
text file and then imported into another application for
further analysis.
